Founder’s Statement

By Cheryl Murphy, Founder of FetchHelp

I didn’t build FetchHelp because I wanted to start a company.
I built it because the world needed something that didn’t exist — and life pushed me to create it.

I know what it feels like to face an emergency alone.
I know the terror, the confusion, the helplessness.
I know what it feels like to lose the one soul who loved me unconditionally — my Stella — and to realize in that moment how fragile everything really is.

In that heartbreak, something became painfully clear:

We live in a world full of emergencies, but almost no universal safety net.

Parents, pet owners, caregivers, hikers, solo travelers, elders, neurodivergent individuals —
every day, people and pets go missing, fall ill, get injured, become unresponsive, or face danger…
and there is no single system that connects their information, alerts their loved ones, or helps responders act faster.

So I decided to build one.

FetchHelp was born from the belief that every person and every pet deserves safety — without barriers, without subscriptions, without limits.
That’s why our core platform will always be free.
Safety should never depend on someone’s ability to pay.
Not now. Not ever.

Whether you’re a parent worried about a child, a pet owner afraid of leaving your animal home alone, a woman navigating unsafe situations, an elderly adult living independently, or a traveler exploring the world — you deserve a safety net that meets you where you are.

No child should wander unnoticed.
No pet should sit at home in danger because their owner was rushed to the hospital.
No woman should have to suffer in silence.
No elderly parent should go missing without alerts.
No hiker should vanish without someone being notified.
No person should delay life-saving surgery because they have no one to check on their animals.

FetchHelp is not a tech project.

It is a promise — to Stella, to the families I’ve cared for as a nurse, and to every person who has ever felt alone in a moment of crisis.

I am stubborn.
I am motivated.
And I am fueled by something deeper than ambition.

I care more about the mission than the money.
I care more about impact than profit.
I care more about saving lives than going viral.

And even if someday we build an app with advanced features, the core safety tools — the profiles, the QR codes, the emergency access, the caregiver alerts — will remain free forever.

Because safety is a right, not a product. And I will not stop until FetchHelp becomes the universal safety network the world has been missing.

If you are reading this, thank you for believing in something built from heart, loss, resilience, and hope. I’m excited to share this journey with you and cannot wait to introduce some of the fun merchandise we have been dreaming up…. We have some very unexpected ways that we will be marketing FetchHelp. Safety should not be complicated, based on fear mongering , or boring. It should feel empowering. It should feel modern. It should be fun ….. dare I say we are making safety sexy.

Your shares, follows, engagement, and support — even the small gestures — help us show the world that this system is needed.

They help us get funding.
They help us grow.
They help us save lives.

We are just getting started. Together, we are going to change the damn world — for people, for pets, and for every vulnerable soul who deserves help before the moment they need it most.
